Client Overview
International School Partnership (ISP) is a global group of private international schools. With over 80 schools across 22 countries, ISP is dedicated to delivering high-quality education globally. It supports thousands of students and staff, managing various digital systems to streamline operations, communications, and back-office functions.
Business Objective
ISPs were looking for a more cost-effective and scalable runtime platform. They required 24*7 infrastructure availability, better control over data usage, and alignment with the organization’s preference for Azure-hosted applications. Data privacy and security were also significant concerns, especially sensitive financial data like invoice PDFs.
Challenges Faced by ISP
The client’s existing Boomi Cloud setup presented several limitations:
- Subscription-based licensing and data usage caps in Boomi Cloud made long-term operations costly.
- Data volume constraints due to limited storage and data throughput lead to concerns around scalability.
- Being a public platform, Boomi Cloud didn’t align with the client’s internal security policies.
- As many ISP applications are already hosted in Microsoft Azure, Boomi Cloud is an outlier.
- The client required real-time infrastructure support and monitoring for a mission-critical data process like invoice publication from NetSuite.
How NeosAlpha Helped?
As an integration expert, NeosAlpha migrated ISP’s Boomi Atom from the cloud to a custom Azure setup to establish a cost-effective and scalable solution. Here is how we provided a fully managed infrastructure solution that addressed every challenge:
1. Custom Azure Deployment
As an Azure Partner, we deployed Boomi Atom on Microsoft Azure to migrate from the costly and limited Boomi Cloud. This approach ensured high availability and automatic failure recovery, providing a more resilient and flexible integration infrastructure.
2. 24×7 Infrastructure Support
The group of private international schools required real-time support for critical invoicing processes. Our managed services team offered round-the-clock monitoring and response to ensure the Atom nodes remained operational. To recover from event failure, we implemented automated recovery mechanisms that send alerts via email or phone for proactive resolution.
3. Secure and Private Hosting
As a public platform, Boomi Cloud didn’t comply with ISPs’ strict data privacy requirements. As an Azure Partner, we hosted the Atom in a private Azure environment, offering our client full access and control over data, network flow, and infrastructure security.
4. Data Usage Optimization
Boomi’s subscription model and data caps resulted in unpredictable and rising costs. We migrated their Atom to Azure to remove data transfer limitations and gain complete control to optimize both performance and price.
5. Zero Disruption Post-Migration
After the Boomi Cloud to Azure migration, all core integration processes ran smoothly without impacting existing functionality. Our migration approach ensured that ISP’s business operations were not just preserved but enhanced with real-time performance and reliability.
Technology Stack
- Cloud Platform – Microsoft Azure
- Integration Platform – Boomi
- Core Systems – NetSuite, Integration Service Module (ISM)
Results
As a trusted Boomi and Azure partner, we successfully migrated the ISP’s integration platform from the cloud to a private environment.
- Boomi Cloud migration to the Azure platform made the solution cost-effective.
- Enhanced security by hosting the Atom on a private Azure environment gave complete control over.
- No disruption in business operations in the event-driven invoicing process from NetSuite to ISM.
- We established 24/7 observability and infrastructure support, leveraging advanced monitoring dashboards to ensure continuous operational health.
- Boomi cloud migration to Azure ensured consistency with the client’s broader technology strategy and infrastructure alignment.
