Evolving Integration Requirements

As Convex’s business and technology landscape evolved, existing integration mechanisms required modernization to support increasing transaction volumes, real-time processing, and seamless communication across enterprise applications.

As business volumes increased, there was a growing need to enable real-time processing of policy and claims events to improve responsiveness and operational efficiency.

Data Inconsistency Across Systems

Maintaining synchronized policy, claims, customer, and risk-related information across multiple enterprise applications became increasingly challenging as transaction volumes grew.

Complex Event-Driven Integration Validation

The integration architecture involved Boomi, Amazon EventBridge, Amazon SQS, Amazon S3, Snowflake, and PostgreSQL, making end-to-end testing complex due to asynchronous processing, multiple downstream systems, and data synchronization requirements.

Reliable Event & Message Processing

The business required assurance that events were delivered successfully without duplication, message loss, or processing failures under high transaction volumes.

Enterprise Data Consolidation

Insurance data from multiple enterprise applications needed to be accurately consolidated for reporting and analytics while maintaining data integrity and consistency across business systems.

End-to-End Integration Validation

Boomi Integration Testing

Boomi integration processes were validated to ensure correct data transformation, field mapping, business rule implementation, and successful synchronization of policy and claims information across enterprise applications.

Event-Driven Architecture Validation

Amazon EventBridge was validated to ensure the successful generation, routing, and delivery of business events, such as policy creation, policy updates, claim submissions, and claim updates, to downstream systems.

Asynchronous Message Validation

Amazon SQS queues were tested to verify reliable asynchronous message processing, successful message consumption, retry mechanisms, and prevention of duplicate or lost messages during high-volume transaction processing.

Document Storage Verification

Amazon S3 integration was validated to ensure policy documents and claims attachments were securely stored, accurately retrieved, and maintained throughout the insurance lifecycle.

Centralized Data Validation

Integration data flowing into Snowflake and PostgreSQL was validated to ensure policy, claims, and operational data remained accurate, complete, and consistent for enterprise reporting, analytics, and business intelligence. SQL queries were used to verify data integrity between source systems and the centralized data platform.

API, Database & Regression Testing

The QA team performed API validation with Postman, verified backend data with SQL queries, managed defects in Jira, and executed comprehensive integration, regression, database, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) to ensure production readiness.
